Summary
Summary: Side Wrench stores your data on-device and in your private iCloud container. We don’t run our own servers, don’t sell data, and don’t use third‑party analytics.
Data we handle:
You enter vehicles, repairs, parts, photos, and time entries. This stays on your device and your iCloud.
Camera is used for VIN scanning and photos; images are saved locally/iCloud only.
VIN decoding uses the NHTSA vPIC API over HTTPS; the VIN is sent to vPIC to return make/model/year/trim. We don’t send any personal identifiers.
Purchases are processed by Apple; we only receive entitlement status.
Sharing: No data is sold or shared for marketing. Sync is via Apple iCloud.
Retention: Data remains until you delete it in the app or remove it from iCloud. Deleting the app does not automatically delete iCloud data.
Your choices: You can disable iCloud for the app, revoke camera permissions, or delete data in the app.
Children: Not directed to children under 13.
Changes: We’ll update this page for material changes.
